Is a procedure whereby 2 leads are being inserted into the brain; one on the right side and one on the left side.
Exact location of the lead placement will depend on the problem of the individual.
These leads will be connected to battery that is being placed on the right side of patient’s chest.
A candidate referred by a Neurologist will be first seen in Neurosurgery Clinic before an imaging of the brain (MRI brain) is done. The patient is then seen by an anaesthesiologist to evaluate the patient’s fitness to undergo general anaesthesia.
